Pokemon USA vs. Research Center

You can file this story under the Are you SERIOUS? category. The Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, in New York, was told in no uncertain terms by Pokemon USA that the center™s research into the gene named POK erythroid myeloid ontogenic, should not refer to their products. What is all the stink about? In the January issue of Nature magazine, which is a respected international weekly publication for scientific research papers of all types, geneticist Pier Palolo Pandolfi nicknamed the tongue tying gene as the Pokemon gene. The center has now seen the light and has given the gene the shortened title of Zbtb7.
