Ubisoft to publish No More Heroes in the U.S.

No More HeroesUbisoft has announced that it has secured the rights to publish the stylish action title No More Heroes in the U.S.  The game will be developed by Grasshopper Manufacture, and is scheduled to ship in February of next year – two months ater its Japanese release.

Said Tony Key, vice president of marketing at Ubisoft:

"Ubisoft is bringing the title to the North American market because we believe there is a viable market for mature games on the Wii platform – an audience that has been underserved up to now. The game Ubisoft publishes in North America will have all of the content that its Japanese counterpart does. We wanted to make sure that gamers here would not miss out on any of the action or storyline details created by the talented development team in Japan."

Ubisoft’s vice president of publishing Jay Cohen had this to say:

"Ubisoft is excited to be bringing Suda 51’s latest adventure to gamers in North America. Suda 51 is one of the most creative minds in gaming and No More Heroes is shaping up to be a visually stunning and immersive game with an extremely engaging storyline players will no doubt be drawn to."

Suda 51 is indeed one of the most creative minds in the industry; he and his team at Grasshopper are responsible for the mindbending Killer7, featuring what is easily one of the most convoluted storylines in modern gaming.  Killer7 is available on both the Gamecube and Playstation 2.
