UPDATE: Hsien-Ko and Sentinel officially named to MvC3

UPDATE: Rumor no more! After GamerNode reported on leaked images last night, today Eurogamer unveiled the official first trailers for Sentinel and Hsien-Ko. The videos and first screens can be found at the end of the original article.

Ladies and gentlemen, if a German magazine is to be believed, the final Marvel vs Capcom 3 on-disc roster sits at 36.

Pictures have started to hit the Web from the latest issue of Consol Plus (homepage here) showing Hsien-Ko from Darkstalkers and Marvel’s giant robotic Sentinel joining the MvC3 party. Skeptics on forums around the Web called the photos into question, saying that they could have easily been shopped. A little while later, a video has surfaced of a person with the magazine in hand, clearly showing this magazine to be legit.

Particularly interesting about this reveal is that it centers around a person named "lupinko." A couple of months ago, lupinko hit NeoGAF with what he said was the complete roster. At the time, 36 characters was considered too small and some of the character choices (particularly Hsien-Ko) were odd, so he was considered a misinformant.

Fast forward to today: if this proves true, and Sentinel and Hsien-Ko are the last two to be revealed, lupinko would have been 100% correct. Of course, having their roster leaked is something Capcom is all too familiar with, as Super Street Fighter IV‘s entire roster was leaked in a similar fashion before it’s released.

Enough rambling, on to the pictures:

This was the first picture to surface, and the one that caught the most ire. Soon after, these three hit the Web:

Hey look! Galactus too! If there was any doubt that he was the final boss, guess that’s out the window.

Of course, until Capcom officially announces Hsien-Ko and Sentinel, this is strictly rumor. A well-founded, pretty-solid-facts-associated-with-it rumor, but a rumor nonetheless.

Marvel vs Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds is due out February 15th for Xbox 360 and PS3.
