The Revolution Is on the Blitz

Blitz Games, a game developer stationed in the U.K., has announced that it has signed a deal with Nintendo to produce a next-gen title for the Revolution. Exact details on the type of game or the publisher of the game will be released at a later date. The co-founder of Blitz Games said, We™re genuinely very excited to be working on the Revolution. Nintendo™s innovation over the years has trail blazed new concepts and the new controller is no exception. It will give people new ways to play existing genres but moreover we hope it will spawn altogether new gaming experiences.” Philip Oliver, CEO of Blitz commented, This latest addition to our portfolio clearly signals that Blitz is one of the few major developers with the capability and technology to work on both next and current generation titles simultaneously. Our strategy of a fully featured, well structured tool chain and cross platform engine has really paid off and we are quickly able to incorporate these new platforms with relative ease making our development faster and more efficient.” Among the titles that Blitz has produced are Pac-Man World 3, Bratz, Fairly OddParents, Frogger 2, Taz:Wanted and others. Blitz Games seems to be suited to the job of developing games for Nintendo™s Revolution as their game catalogue is comprised of many titles that are children /family oriented. Nintendo has been extremely stingy with news about upcoming Revolution titles, but if Blitz Games is considered a clue to what sort of games we can expect for the Revolution, an educated guess would be that Nintendo will continue to produce games that are predominantly geared for the family. If one considers all the flack and negative blow-back concerning violence and adult material in video games, Nintendo may be catching the wave of a new trend in gaming
