2D XBLA platformer switches over to the Wii

Eternity's ChildOriginally announced last year for Xbox Live Arcade, Eternity’s Child is a stylish 2-dimensional sidescrolling platform game that tells the story of an angel who has lost his wings. In development in the UK by Luc Bernard, the project has been moved over to the Wii due to the space restrictions of Xbox Live Arcade.

The "dark fairy tale" will now be pubished by UK-based Alten8, and may even by followed by a Nintendo DS version sometime down the road. The gameplay on the Wii is planned to be very simple, although Bernrd has stated that there may be a motion control or two thrown into the mix. In addition, Bernard plans a multiplayer mode of some kind, although details on that portion of the game are currently unavailable.

Newly released screenshots look very promising, at least in the graphics department.  The game features beautiful 2D art akin to the work of Vanillaware (Odin Sphere, GrimGrimoire), which can be read as "awesome-looking."  I guess we’ll just have to wait and see about the gameplay itself.
