Batman: Arkham City 'new game plus' mode revealed

Batman: Arkham City

Batman: Arkham Asylum rewarded multiple playthroughs just because of how much fun it was, but the upcoming sequel will give gamers extra incentive to put the beatdown on thugs a second or third time.

Developer Rocksteady Studios has confirmed that Batman: Arkham City will include a new game plus mode. The option will be unlocked after completing the game on either the normal or hard difficulty.

Players will retain all of the experience, gadgets and upgrades they acquired the first time around, but enemies will be a lot tougher. In addition, the counter icon will disappear and bosses will provide an increased challenge.

Although the new game plus mode will be more difficult, Rocksteady pointed out that it’s different from hard mode because you still have all your gadgets and experience. And for those of you who want to play the game again without all of your upgrades carried over, that is still possible.

My first experience playing a video game blew me away. The fact that Super Metroid was that game certainly helped. So I like to think Samus put me on the path to video games. Well, I guess my parents buying the SNES had a little something to do with it. Ever since then my passion for video games has grown. When I found that I could put words together into a coherent sentence, videogame journalism was a natural interest. Now I spend a large majority of my time either playing video games or writing about them, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
