Activate3D releases dedicated Kinect software

In a press release today the software development company Activate3D announced the launch of its Intelligent Character Motion 1.0 software.

Based on patent-pending research the software is designed to streamline and improve the way the Kinect integrates the player’s motions and movements into games.

Powered by NVIDIA’s PhysX, the software promises to drastically improve the sensitivity of the Kinect allowing it to pick up and mimic in the smallest of movements.

Activate3D’s co-founder and CEO Jeff Levy commented on the release:

"The release of ICM 1.0 is an important milestone in our company. We have taken fundamental character motion research and delivered a product that will impact games that use natural interaction devices such as Kinect."

If successful the software could ensure the end of the tracking and response time issues that titles like Fighters Uncaged or Sonic Free Riders have been suffering from. Share your thoughts and Kinect experiences in the comments section below.
