Assassin’s Creed IV gameplay video from PAX East reaches the masses

Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag Gameplay Revealed

This past weekend at PAX East, those in attendance had the chance to see Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag‘s gameplay for the first time. Today, Ubisoft is letting the rest of the world see Edward Kenway cut, blast, and plunder his way through Black Flag‘s beautiful Caribbean world with the video’s official release.

The two-and-a-half-minute trailer showcases several activities players will be taking part in as Edward, the father of Haytham and grandfather of Connor from Assassin’s Creed III. This will include everything from exploring ruins, shipwrecks, and the ocean depths to boarding enemy vessels, recruiting crew members, interacting with famous figures of the era, and of course plenty of assassin-style stabbing and shooting.

In addition to the video, Ubisoft also provided details on the Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag GameStop Edition. This version, exclusive only to the store chain of the same name, comes with “The Black Island Pack” included for free. Named after the ship of famed pirate Captain Morgan, the content includes:

•       The Black Island treasure-hunting quest.
•       Unlockable Black Ship.
•       Captain Morgan’s legendary flintlock pistols.
•       Mutliplayer content that includes a Captain Morgan costume, picture, and title.

Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag is set to release for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Wii U, PC, and “other next-generation consoles” (i.e. Xbox 720/Durango). The release date for the 360, PS3, and Wii U versions is October 29.
