Bungie updates Halo 3 matchmaking

halo3thumbHey, Bungie rolled out a few updates to Halo 3’s online matchmaking today, thanks to the help of the ever-perceptive Halo 3 community. Forgive me since I don’t know any of the terminology because I’ve been enjoying The Orange Box for PC lately.

Note that was a hint to pick up The Orange Box; heck, if you own both a Xbox 360 and a PC, then pick up both games!

I digress, here’s the update log. Bungie also noted that they’d be working on other updates to the game, "we’re looking at new hoppers, gametypes and modes to test for future iterations and changes of these playlists."

1. Big Team Battle matches are now 16-player affairs.
2. In the Team Slayer playlist, the appearance of Shotty Snipers has been greatly reduced.
3. Now, when players veto Shotty Snipers, the game that results from the veto will not be Shotty Snipers.
4. In one-side VIP matches, the attacking team will now see a waypoint for the VIP they are hunting.
5. In Lone Wolves, Slayer gametypes will appear more frequently.
