Capcom unveils Tokyo Game Show lineup, more SFxT news

SFxT Box Art

Capcom set off a news bonanza today, unveiling their lineup this year’s Tokyo Game Show and dropping some new info on their latest cross-over fighting game..

Capcom will bring Asura’s Wrath, Resident Evil: Revelations, Dragon’s Dogma, Street Fighter X Tekken, Sengoku Basara 3 Utage, and Monster Hunter Diary G to TGS 2011, set for September 15-18. While this is a strong lineup, the absence of Dead Rising 2: Off The Record and Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 is certainly interesting. Perhaps Capcom has more plans for their two fall releases that we’ll find out about in the coming days.

In Street Fighter X Tekken news, Capcom also revealed the official box art for their newest cross-over fighter today. The splotch effect we’ve seen in all of the trailers so far feature prominently here, as well as imminent face-punching from Ryu and Kazuya.

I’m a big fan of this box art, more so than I was of Marvel vs Capcom 3‘s, for sure. Unfortunately, the new reveal did not come with a release date announcement, so as cool as this box art is, it doesn’t really mean anything until we know when we can display it on our shelf.

Speaking of splotchy trailers, Capcom also threw two more teaser trailers at us, hyping two more new challengers. It’s a safe bet that these two new fighters will be officially unveiled at Tokyo Game Show. Watch below!

I’m going with Rolento from the Final Fight and Street Fighter Alpha series and good ol’ Heihaci Mishima from Tekken. Any guesses?
