C&C3 heading to 360 on May 10

Now that Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars is out for PC, the game will also make its way to the Xbox 360 on May 10. A demo will hit Xbox Live before the game ships, so those who doubt RTSs work on consoles can see if they’ll rethink their opinion. The same team who developed C&C3 for PC and the successful PC-to-Xbox 360 RTS game The Lord of the Rings: The Battle for Middle-earth II, EA LA, was responsible for development of the 360 version of the game. Read our review of the PC version here.

According to the C&C3 FAQ page, the decision to port C&C3 to the Xbox 360 was largely based on The Battle for Middle-earth II. By September 2006, the game sold 150,000 copies, which may not be a lot, but it convinced EA LA to pursue C&C3 for the 360. The 360 port will also feature a revamped control system and game interface, as well as new multiplayer game modes — conquer, siege and capture the flag. Additionally, the game will join the short list of games which support the Vision camera.
