DJ Hero 2 announced

Twoturntables

We knew it was coming, but Activision officially dropped the bomb today and announced that DJ Hero 2 is indeed coming. The game will feature 70 new mixes from artists such as Dr. Dre, The Chemical Brothers, Kanye West, Lady Gaga, Rihanna, Metallica, and Deadmau5, who will also be a playable character in-game.

In addition to a new soundtrack, DJ Hero 2 will sport some new multiplayer modes to bring even more players in to the fun. A new mode called DJ Battles, will pit two DJs against each other playing special songs that are built specifically for battle gameplay. Expect some back and forth music blasting and attacks of some sort. Party Play, a mode that was introduced in Guitar Hero 5 and allows music to play in the background and anyone can jump in and jump out at will, is coming to DJ Hero 2 along with a new karaoke mode. Vocalists can sing and rap to the tracks while DJ players spin the platters. A new single player mode, entitled Empire Mode, will start players as an up-and-coming DJ who will build an entertainment empire.

The game will also come in a variety of bundles, including a standard turntable and game or just the standalone game this time around. A new Party Bundle will include a copy of the game, two turntables and a microphone. It’s very hard not to type "Where its at" immediately after that sentence.

As an added bonus, and to fans of DJ Hero who want to sample the new music, Activision has posted some free DLC for DJ Hero owners. A track from DJ Hero 2, featuring Lady Gaga’s "Let’s Dance" mashed up with Deadmau5’s "Ghosts n’ Stuff", will be availabe from June 8-14 on Xbox LIVE Marketplace and PSN.

No pricing has announced yet, but the game is set for a Fall release on XB360, PS3, and Wii. We’ll probably hear more at E3.
