Duke Nukem 3D heading to XBLA?

duke3dAfter regaling his second Xbox 360 red ring of death situation, 3D Realms boss George Broussard revealed to Shacknews that the classic 1996 FPS Duke Nukem 3D may be heading to Xbox Live Arcade.

Specifically, he wrote: "Truth be told, we’ve talked to Microsoft about it and have some people that would port it. Just waiting on the good word from Microsoft to continue."

Having had fond memories of Duke Nukem 3D back in my heydays of PC gaming (the late 1990’s), seeing the possibility of Duke Nukem 3D heading to XBLA is definitely an awesome thing.

It wouldn’t be the first time for Duke getting the console treatment, since past games went to consoles, such as Duke Nukem 64 (Nintendo 64, 1996), Duke Nukem: Time to Kill (PlayStation, 1998), Duke Nukem: Zero Hour (Nintendo 64, 1999), Duke Nukem (Game Boy Color, 1999), Duke Nukem: Land of Babes (PlayStation, 2000) and Duke Nukem Advance (Game Boy Advance, 2002).

In the meantime, I, like many others, are still patiently waiting for Duke Nukem Forever. The last update was another screenshot back in May.
