Duke Nukem Forever lives!

Duke Nukem Forever

But does anybody care?

Once thought dead, Duke Nukem Forever has been revived and it’s been a long time coming. More than 13 years in the making, and aging long before it’s even seen the light of day, development stopped last year when DNF‘s original developer, 3D Realms went bankrupt and was forced to shut down.

Now Duke Nukem Forever will be finished by Gearbox Software and published by Take-Two Interactive. Announced this morning, prior to the PAX 2010 conference, Take-Two plans to release DNF next year. Randy Pitchford, CEO of Gearbox Software, actually did some work on Duke Nukem 3D.

It remains to be seen how good a PC title, almost a dacade-and-a-half in the making, DNF could actually be.
