EA Announces New Medal of Honor Game: Airborne

Electronic Arts of Los Angeles (EALA) has announced the next title in their WW2 franchise shooter, Medal of Honor. The new game, which will appear on next-gen consoles and PCs this fall, is entitled, “Medal of Honor: Airborne.” “Medal of Honor: Frontline,” the first in the WW2 series, received excellent reviews for its gameplay and high production value. Some of the subsequent titles in the MoH franchise have fallen short of the mark. In particular, “Medal of Honor: Rising Sun”, was accused of an uninspired storyline, repetitive gameplay and faulty AI. Electronic Arts is trying to regain its foothold in the WW2 shooter genre, which has been relinquished to their competitor,s “Call of Duty” (Activision) and the “Brothers In Arms” (Ubisoft) franchises. With the future release of “Medal of Honor: Airborne”, EA is hoping that this aerial assault will bring them victory. Vice president executive producer, Patrick Gilmore, of EALA said of the new title, "Medal of Honor Airborne is a step in a new direction for the franchise. While integrating our state-of-the-art, next-gen technology into every aspect of the game, we are introducing innovations that will redefine the series and impact the genre as a whole. By fully controlling the airdrop from your very first step through landing, Medal of Honor Airborne adds a new dimension of player choice by letting you decide where every mission begins and how it plays out." Electronic Arts is facing heavy opposition in the WW2 franchise trenches, but they are hopeful that “Airborne” will score a victory for them this year.
