EA Q1 financial results, Crysis in November!

crysis dateEA released their first quarter 2008 financial results today and they reported net revenue of $395 million during the past three months. Unfortunately, this is slightly down from $413 million during the same period last year. Sales were driven by strong sales of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (sold over two million copies in one week!), Command & Conquer 3, The Sims 2: Pets, Need for Speed Carbon and The Sims 2, (which, by-the-way, are all franchise titles.)

Gross profit was at $229 million while net loss was at $132 million, which is up from $81 million during the same period last year. John Riccitiello, CEO of EA, said, "In the last three months we announced the reorganization of our business into four Labels and welcomed Kathy Vrabeck and Peter Moore to EA. I’m pleased that our team, structure and strategy are coming together quickly."

EA announced that for the rest of this fiscal year (July 2007 to March 2008), they’ll release 10 new game properties, including Boogie, EA Playground, Army of Two, SKATE, Warhammer Online, The Simpsons Game, Smarty Pants, a Wii game with director Steven Spielberg , Rock Band and Crysis.

In the follow-up conference call, EA announced that Crysis will be released sometime in November. A cemented release date hasn’t been confirmed, but hey, at least we’re getting there.
