Eurocom: Movie Tie-In Games are "Rubbish"

Hugh Binns, co-founder of Eurocom, the developer of movie tie-in games for franchises like James Bond, Batman and Harry Potter, expressed his views that licensed games based upon films are for the most part, “rubbish,” in comments made to GamesIndustry. Binn remarked, “There are still too many rubbish licensed games that are obviously rushed and buggy, and don,t seem well designed to appeal to their target audience.”

He expressed that much of the inferior tie-in games come about because of developers struggling to meet deadlines that coincide with a film,s release date. “There are challenges with any license. There is often a limited amount of time due to a critical release date, which can be compounded by the number of dependencies around assets and reference delivery.
