Fallout 3 to feature over 200 endings, wowza!

fallout3posterAccording to the latest Official Xbox Magazine podcast, Bethesda Softworks executive producer Todd Howard dropped some more details regarding Fallout 3. First and foremost, the game will feature over 200 endings, that’s right folks, 200 endings.

Remember when we reported that Fallout 3 would have 12 endings? Looks like the Bethesda crew got plenty of ideas over the past few months.

Last month, we mentioned that Fallout 3’s world would roughly be about 50 to 80% the size of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion but Howard mentioned that the game is now twice as big as they originally planned. What does that mean in comparison to Oblivion, we’ll have to wait and see.

Other lingering details are in regards to NPCs; at all times, you will have at least one "humanoid-type companion" along with another NPC, like the lovable scrap Dogmeat. Speaking about Dogmeat, Bethesda is paying extra attention to Dogmeat’s Radiant AI and his health system because, you know, he’s a dog after all.

Lastly, Howard mentioned that development on Fallout 3 is essentially finished, so they’re currently in full bug-squashing and polishing mode. Fans can expect a playing time of over 100 hours depending on how they play; the main quest will take around 20 hours.

Fallout 3 will head to PC, Xbox 360 and PS3 this fall.
