Final Fantasy celebrates 25 years with PSN sale

Several of the series titles go 50 percent off on PSN tomorrow.

Final Fantasy’s 25th anniversary officially began back in December, but Square Enix is finally doing something to celebrate the achievement. Beginning tomorrow, a slew of games from the series’ past will go on sale for 50 percent off on PlayStation Network.

“Twenty-five years ago, our company launched a game called Final Fantasy,” said Square Enix Senior Executive Managing Officer Shinji Hashimoto on the US PlayStation Blog. “It was the result of a lot of hard work and dedication. It was also the start of a franchise that would go on to capture the hearts of millions of players around the world.”

The games that will be on sale can be found listed here:

– Dissidia 012[duodecim] Final Fantasy
– Dissidia Duodecim Prologues Final Fantasy
– Dissidia Final Fantasy
– Final Fantasy Tactics: War of Lions
– Final Fantasy
– Final Fantasy II
– Final Fantasy IV: Complete Collection
– Final Fantasy V
– Final Fantasy VI
– Final Fantasy VII
– Final Fantasy VIII
– Final Fantasy IX

“We hope you enjoy these classic titles — the memories they evoke, and the new memories they will create,” Hashimoto finished.

The sale will last for two weeks. Let us know if you plan on picking up any of these titles from the historic franchise in the comments below.
