Financial analyst flames E3 convention

E3 07 shotAfter the missing glitz and glamour of E3, what is there left to do till the next one comes by? Well, what we can do is badmouth the massive differences between this year’s scaled down E3 with its meatier counterpart of the previous years.

Financial analyst Michael Pachter went on a tangent — completely bashing this year’s E3. He first addressed the ESA’s (Entertainment Software Association) decision on trimming away the fat of the trade show but not allowing as many "non-essentials" in this year. This, of course, was the primary concern of last year’s E3 when the attendance sky-rocketed to 60,000.

"By choosing to eliminate any potential for a consumer element to the show, the ESA chased away much of the television media… We think that the traditional 60,000 person trade show may have been too large to manage effectively but think that the new 3,000 person show was a terrible disappointment."

Pachter also pointed out the poor choice of location, mentioning that media events were unorganized and that the locale of the different events was simply too large for adequate transportation in order to make the scheduled events.
