As if Star Wars: The Force Unleashed 2 wasn’t getting enough fan backlash, IGN released a video today from the game’s latest Battle for Endor DLC where the player faces off against and brutally murders Han Solo and Chewbacca.
The DLC is part of a Force Unleashed series "tradition" of Starkiller showing up, doing battle with, and killing important characters from the original Star Wars trilogy in a "What if" alternate universe.
In the original Force Unleashed DLC, players killed Boba Fett, Obi-Wan, and turned Luke Skywalker to the dark side after beating the crap out of him. But each of these moments didn’t anger fans as Boba Fett was a villain, Obi-Wan dies anyway, and Luke Skywalker doesn’t die.
Han and Chewie, on the other hand, are cherished and beloved characters who are shown absolutely no mercy by Starkiller in this hard-to-watch scene. The fact that The Force Unleashed had much better review scores than the critically disappointing Force Unleashed 2 could also have something to do with it.
