Founder of SCi ousted, management shake up

scigamesThe troubling stories of fumbling management at UK publisher SCi Entertainment continue to mount. Over on Telegraph, they report that founder and chief executive Jane Cavanagh and her husband, the managing director, of SCi Entertainment have been ousted by Chairman Tim Ryan.

Ryan has hired Juergen Goeldner to act as the interim chief operating officer at SCi. With recent rumors of a struggling budget and angry investors, it was natural to eventually see a shift in management. Folks wondered what SCi would do after they announced they’ve ended all buyout talks admit financial troubles.

Cavanagh was replaced by Phil Rogers, who came from a corporate development director position at EA. He eventually was promoted to chief financial officer. Ryan spoke about Rogers and his attitude on shifting SCi’s business goals.

"Led by Phil, the board has already commenced a root-and-branch review of the company’s strategy and will report back to shareholders on our findings and recommendations."

Hopefully SCi turns out well and they can rebound from a strong of heavy game delays, including Tomb Raider: Underworld being delayed till December.
