GamerNode Weekly Recap 2/4 – 2/10 : Where's My Money, Jack?

This past week brought news of an EGM interview in which Sony President Jack Tretton claimed he would pay $1,200 for any PS3 that could be found sitting on store shelves for more than five minutes. This is either going to put a huge dent in Tretton’s pocket, or it’ll be another PR nightmare for Sony.

The much anticipated Half Life 2: Episode 2 has been delayed yet again, this time until Fall ’07. Consequently, The Black Box and The Orange Box–which contain Portal and Team Fortress 2, among other titles–have been pushed back right along with Episode 2.

The Xbox 360’s Achievement and Gamerscore systems have been a huge hit with the gaming community, even though they serve as little more than tools for bragging rights. But starting on February 12, Microsoft will be holding an Achievement contest where you can win actual prizes for doing nothing more than playing Xbox 360 games.

Nokia’s N-Gage never managed to make any sort of dent on the handheld gaming industry, but that hasn’t stopped development of a second N-Gage. EA has already pledged support for the system, but it’ll take a lot more than that for the N-Gage 2 to be a success.

Our forums are currently undergoing some maintenance, which will yield some exciting new features–but you can still post, so worry not.

Rachet & Clank: Up Your Arsenal has already made the list of games with suspicious names–what other titles out there have made you cock an eyebrow?

Meanwhile, others are expressing their disdain for the aforementioned Half Life 2: Episode 2 delay.
