Games heading to stores: 4/15 to 4/21

Like last week, new games for this week are a little slow. First up is the PS2 side-scroller/action game The Red Star, which is based on the sci-fi fantasy graphic novel of the same name. Originally, the game was an Xbox game to be published by Acclaim but went into limbo when the publisher went under. Now XS Games is publishing the game.

Next up is the PS2 action/mech battle game Eureka Seven: New Vision, which is based on the anime of the same name, from Bandai. New content includes an expanded story, advanced mech battles and customizable weaponry.

Rounding up the list of new PS2 games is Raiden III, the upcoming revival of the Raiden series. The side-scroller will be the newest edition in the franchise, which hasn’t seen a new game in the past 11 years.

Valhalla Knights for the PSP will also see release this week. This Japanese RPG will feature a very large character customization system with over 48,000 possible combinations.

The only new PC entry for this week is UFO: Extraterrestrials, the unofficial sequel to the 1995 action game X-COM: UFO Defense. The game picks off where X-COM left off with a new twist for the aliens and a new colonized planet named Esperanza.

Last up is a new Wii game from publisher Majesco titled Bust-A-Move Bash! This puzzle title is like its Japanese cousin Bust-A-Move from 1994.

A game we missed that was released last week was the retail edition of The Ship, the FPS/murder-styled game that’s also been available on Steam for some time.
