GRAW 2 Demo Now Available On Xbox Live

Xbox Live subscribers now have the opportunity to get their hands on the new Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter through a free demo offered over the Xbox Live Marketplace. The GRAW 2 demo is 625.5MB in size and will center on the singer player mode’s second level of the full version of the game.

Players will take on the role of Scott Mitchell, a weapon-wielding future soldier, who sports tools such as the M.U.L.E support drones and the UAV Cypher. In related news, Ubisoft, publisher of the GRAW franchise, announced last week that the PS3 version of GRAW 2 would be delayed until June. No explanation has been offered for the delay. The versions for the Xbox 360, PC, and PSP are due out sometime during the first quarter of 2007.

The Xbox Live Marketplace has served as an extremely effective tool for publishers to get playable demos into the hands of the gaming public and serves as an economically sound way of distributing game content. The logistics of distributing games digitally is extremely cost effective for publishers, but until the gaming community becomes more used to receiving titles without a box and printed manual–not to mention the accessibility of premium high speed internet connections–digital distribution of full blown games is still in the distant future.
