Guitar Hero rolling in ca$h

guitar hero*HEADLINE* The popular Guitar Hero is a North American star! The presence of the game in the homes of many Americans have become increasingly popular ever since its debut hit in 2005.

The franchise sold more than 14 million units across North America, accumulating $1,000,000,000 dollars. I could’ve wrote $1 billion, but that doesn’t emphasize the grandeur of the amount of money that this fairly new franchise has made.

"The latest franchise installment, October’s Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock, grabbed the top spot in North American videogame software unit and dollar sales for 2007. The Guitar Hero franchise originally launched in November 2005 for PlayStation 2 and was published by RedOctane. Activision acquired RedOctane for $100 million in 2006."

The idea was brilliant; to bring the illusion of being a rockstar to video gamers. With some tracks coming straight from the artists themselves– it really added to the realism of the idea. I never played Guitar Hero until the third one came out. I tried it, and love it, and decided to buy the other two to fulfill my music mania.
