Let the Halo 3 media mammoth begin! It is a foregone conclusion the only game we will hear about for the month of September will be Halo 3. Microsoft wouldn’t have it any other way.
So no one should be surprised Microsoft announced that the Halo 3 Xbox 360 controllers, with art by famed comic book artist Todd McFarelane, the Halo 3 wireless headset, and chatpad accessory (called the messenger kit) are going to go on sale this week, according to Joystiq.
Who is going to buy this stuff? I find it hard to believe anyone who is a fan of Halo would pick up new controllers just because same famous comic book artist drew his rendition of Master Chief. It is too excessive.
Same goes with the chatpad. If gamers are given to the choice to record their message, or type it out which one do you think they would choose? No one is going to chat during a game, movie, or just about any activity one could do with the Xbox 360. Chatting is for computers. Leave it there.
Still, there will be those select few with far too much money in their pockets who will gobble these peripherals down. After all, that special gamer needs his Halo 3 controller and headset to go along with his Halo 3 themed Xbox 360 right?
