If you got the Halo 3 Limited Edition there’s a large chance your disc got scratched. If you were one of the unfortunate few who had to sit out launch day, don’t fret, Microsoft has an answer.
The problem all started way back in packaging design when marketing guys decided it would be cool to put it in a giant foldy, tin box… and for the most part, it is pretty cool. I’m giving he guy that thought that up a golf clap. But the problem is, apparently it was too loosely packaged.
The extra space allowed some discs to come flying out and bounce around within the tin during shipping, and in some cases damaging the discs beyond readability. Bummer.
Microsoft, however, has not left its customers high and dry. On the official website, they released an announcement for their official disc replacement program. They will be replacing Halo 3 Limited Edition game disc and the Essentials Disc at no charge all the way to the end of the year (no really, the date is 12/31/07).
The bad news? It’ll take about 2 weeks for them send it back to you. Bummer again.
