Insomniac sees PS3 taking "major leaps" in quality

ps3 colorsBrian Hastings, Chief Creative Officer at Insomniac, remains committed and hyped over the PS3 and it’s future.

In an interview given to VideoGamer.com, Hastings said that the PS3 will continue to make far reaching improvements for years to come and reiterated the often repeated line that the PS3, at the moment, is only using a small portion of its massive potential.

"We’re already seeing a big leap in what people are able to do with the PS3 now compared to a year ago, and we’re going to see just as big a leap between now and the end of 2008. I think we’re going to continue seeing major leaps each year in what people are able to do with the machine for at least three or four more years."

Hastings seems to be a diehard supporter of the PS3 as comments he made earlier this year in March predicted the downfall of the Wii while the PS3 would overcome the initial "fad" of Nintendo’s juggernaut.

"Mainstream fads usually run their course within a year. As the honeymoon period fades, the Wii will be going up against more and more graphically impressive games on the PS3 and Xbox 360…I think the Wii will be more successful than the GameCube or N64 but in the long run will still be outsold by the PS3."

So far, the predictions of the PS3 eventually overtaking Wii sales are far too early to confirm, but if current trends mean anything, Hastings’ forecast is looking somewhat amiss.
