Jaffe Says God of War 2 is Ontrack

David Jaffe, the creative mind behind the blockbuster hit, God of War, gave a personal status report on how God of War 2, is shaping up on his personal blogsite. He also expressed his confidence in the release of a third title in the series as well. While many GoW fans had expected a sequel after the first title, some were still wondering about the status of a third game in the franchise. Jaffe said, “I need to see how things shake out over the next few weeks and then I can give you a more proper update on some of the projects. I CAN tell you that God of War 2 is shaping up very, very nicely. I played a bunch of levels last week and it’s really, really fun. The art and music is much better than the first game and there is some damn fine level design going on in the new game. As Cory and I have said to the press, this is the second act of a bigger story. And when you are making a game, you never really know if the game will turn out good enough to merit another one in the series. But after last week, I can say I am very confident of our chances to be able to complete the GOD OF WAR trilogy. You never know, but that’s me just putting it out there."There was speculation in the game community that Jaffe had left Sony because of his recent move to San Diego. Jaffe put these rumors to rest by saying, “So some people noticed that I’m down in San Diego now and assumed- because of that- that I had left Sony. I have not left Sony…in fact, I am eating lunch while typing this from my shiny new office in the Sony San Diego offices. But there have been alot of changes going on in my life that is for sure. But they’ve all been really, really good."

For fans of God of War, a happy Jaffe is a creative Jaffe, and that can only mean good things for the GoW titles.
