The much heralded Los Angeles Times has another gem on their hands! The often controversial west coast newspaper has published a burning editorial aimed directly at California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger.
Recently Schwarzenegger has been in the gaming news as an outspoken opponent of the freedom of videogame makers. However, the fine editorialists over at the LA Times have published a gripping commentary on the Governor’s actions.
Says the editorial:
"Of course parents should screen the games their kids play. Parents should also limit the amount of time their kids watch TV, and shield them from all sorts of content they may be too young to process critically. But those are parental duties, not governmental ones. And the more lawmakers try to take over for parents on these issues, the more they run afoul of the Constitution."
Sounds like pretty much everything the gaming press has been saying for years. Although, maybe now, someone will listen because there are a few Pulitzer’s behind the ink.
