Turbine and Codemasters revealed that the upcoming Book 10: The City of Kings update will launch on August 20th. This will mark the second free content update for their MMORPG The Lord of the Rings Online: Shadows of Angmar.
Jeffrey Anderson, CEO and President of Turbine, stated, "Our first update significantly expanded the world of Middle-earth with new story arcs, quests, and exciting new kinds of gameplay. For Book 10, we continue the epic story and introduce a ton of new content, but we also are introducing legendary play, a completely new way to experience monster play that enables you to play as a powerful Ranger of the North or a terrible Troll."
Features include:
1. Legendary Play – can spend Destiny Points to play as a Ranger of the North or a Troll.
2. Critter Play – can experience the world as a chicken.
3. New Reputation and Bartering systems – earn positive or negative standing from different races and groups and can trade trophies to each other for rewards.
4. Over 100 new quests
5. Enhanced User Interface
