LucasArts Sticks with SOE

Rumors have been circulating on the internet following the departure of Raph Koster from SOE, specifically regarding the Star Wars Galaxies game, and the possibility of LucasArts taking their Star Wars license elsewhere. Raph Koster™s resignation from Sony Online Entertainment led to rumors that LucasArts would be taking the license for Star Wars games to another game studio. These rumors appear to be false, as both companies have confirmed that SOE still holds the rights to online Star Wars games. A LucasArts spokesperson informed the public that although many developers have come to the company to acquire the license to develop further games, including SOE themselves, no deals have been made yet. The current deal between LucasArts and SOE remains in place until the life of Star Wars Galaxies comes to an end. Both companies have stated that they are committed to continually support the product. Rumors also indicated that LucasArts and BioWare would team up for future projects, but both companies have also confirmed the rumors as being false ” for now.
