Microsoft Hires New Marketing Exec

Starting June 12 of 2006, DaimlerChrysler executive Jeff Bell will be taking over as Microsoft’s new vice president of global marketing for the company’s interactive entertainment business. Well known and trusted in the business for his success in pioneering new marketing tactics such as Dodge’s "Grab Life by the Horns" campaign, Bell will certainly prove to be an invaluable offensive player in the upcoming months as Microsoft works to further promote their XBOX 360 platform and secure a larger portion of the market before the Playstation 3 launches this fall.

"Jeff brings a unique mix of consumer experience and innovation to the interactive entertainment business," said Corporate Vice President, Peter Moore. "His accomplishments at DaimlerChrysler, including the creation of its owner loyalty program, his track record in driving automotive video game strategies, and his influence on urban marketing plans, are indicators of his expertise and leadership."
