The Name Your Fear Website has a contest where players can submit their name choices for Monolith Productions’ scary sequel to F.E.A.R. The content will run from June 4 to June 22, upon which all the submissions will be narrowed down to 3 finalists.
The finalists will get an all-expenses paid trip to meet the development team and visit the facilities. In addition, all finalists will have their likenesses programmed into the game. Afterwards, from July 23 to July 27, voting will be held to pick the final name.
The reason for this contest is simply because Monolith Productions doesn’t own the name F.E.A.R., hence the naming contest. While Monolith owns all the characters and associated game content, Vivendi Universal owns the name F.E.A.R. and is planning their own sequel (probably dubbed F.E.A.R. 2) sometime in the future.
So what are you choices? Hopefully it won’t be another acronym–I have no problem with them but they’re just a pain to type out all the time. Maybe "L.E.A.R.N.2.F.E.A.R.", "What’s your FEAR: Not other silly acronym" or "F.R.E.A.K.Y."?
