New Splinter Cell: Conviction date literally set in stone

The new release date is now set in stone. Literally.

Splinter Cell: Conviction has a new release date and Ubisoft has set it in stone, literally. After being delayed into 2010 and then from February to April, Sam Fisher’s latest installment will finally be hitting store shelves on April 13.

As for the set in stone part, Ubisoft had sent everyone at IGN round rocks with the release date etched into them. Props go to the developer for cleverness and a good sense of humor.

Ubisoft has since posted on its Twitter account a clear explanation that the April 13 release is for North America only. Europe and Australia will get the game on April 15, and the UK a day later on April 16.

When Splinter Cell: Conviction hits stores, it will release for both the PC and Xbox 360.
