New Xbox 360 packages for all versions in October?

xbox360priceAccording to some curious eyeballs on Ars Technica, Microsoft is planning some new Xbox 360 retail packages once October rolls around.

First, on October 9th, a new Xbox 360 Pro package will debut, which will include Forza 2 and Marvel Ultimate Alliance in one neat game package. Both games will be in one case but in separate DVDs, much like past combo discs.

On October 23rd, a new Xbox 360 Elite package will debut with the same two games in one case. There’s no planned price drop either. So in other words, you get the same thing in the current Elite package but with just two free games.

Lastly, a new Xbox Core package will be released, which will include a "new version of the system" with an HDMI port, a wireless controller and five arcade games on a CD: Boom-Boom Rocket, Pac-Man, Uno, Feeding Frenzy and Luxor 2. All of these new features will retail for the current Core price of $279.99 USD.

So if you’re planning to pick up an Xbox 360, October may be a good month to do so.
