In a press release on January 30, 2006, EA announced that they will release a new FPS title, Crysis. Crysis is being developed in conjunction with Crytek, the developers of Farcry. This union will prove to be a boost for Crytek, allowing the duo to utilize the publishing capability of Electronic Arts. Crysis is promising to be the new shape of FPS's, with demanding gameplay, plus customizable weapons and armour. It will also be a hostile playing field, with the gamers fighting against an AI composed of alien invaders. Crysis is being developed using the "CryENGINE 2" Engine.
