Nintendo of America gives NA release of Xenoblade a definitive shrug

Despite the best efforts of fanatical gamers and Operation Rainfall, Nintendo of America continues to answer their pleas for Xenoblade, Pandora’s Tower, and The Last Story with the ever popular, “There continues to be no plans for NOA to release these 3 games right now.” With Xenoblade expected to arrive in Europe sometime in September and the others following in 2012, there may be enough for Nintendo of America to hop off the fence.

Reggie Fils-Aime, president of Nintendo of America, told IGN, “We will be watching very closely what happens in Europe. Certainly if there are business opportunities and positive consumer uptake from some of those titles, that will be great data for us to consider as we look at what to do with these titles.”

No, it’s not the announcement gamers have been waiting for, but it’s certainly more than what has been given before. If these games do well enough in Europe, their chances of crossing the Atlantic should increase and, perhaps, the importers can give their credit cards a rest.
