OnLive offers Labor Day sale and a free year of service

OnLive

OnLive, the long-awaited gaming on demand service that launched in June of 2010, is offering potential subscribers a couple of great deals over the Labor Day weekend in an effort to get more gamers onboard the OnLive bandwagon.

The first promotion, which will continue to run beyond this weekend, is called the "Founding Members Program." This incentive for early adopters of the cloud gaming service waives a full year of membership fees, which are normally $4.95 per month, after which normal billing will resume.

OnLive’s Labor Day Sale won’t last quite as long as the Founding Members Program, but will instead run from 5pm PDT today, Friday, September 3rd, until 11pm on Monday, and will offer a 50% discount on all Full PlayPasses for games available through the service. PlayPasses are purchased separately from the [now waived] monthly subscription fee, and give gamers access to games for either 3 days, 5 days, or indefinitely.

For a list of the games available on OnLive, which includes titles such as Assassin’s Creed II, Batman: Arkham Asylum, Borderlands, Mafia II, MLB 2K10, NBA 2K10, and Trine, among others click here, and check out Onlive.com for details on the Founding Members Program and Labor Day Sale.
