PS3 news: online Tekken 5 and Time Crisis 4

TC4Japanese magazine Famitsu nabbed some rather juicy stories regarding two PlayStation 3 games. The first bit is about Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection, in which an upcoming update for the game will add an online versus mode. There will be ranking boards so players, as they battle each other, can keep track of their victories and losses.

The update will include two self-explanatory offline game modes: Survival and Practice. It won’t be free though, as the planned price tag will be around 1000 Yen ($8), while the entire game with the update will be 2800 Yen ($23). The game itself is currently available on the PlayStation store for $19.99. There’s no release date or concrete U.S. pricing as of this writing.

The second story from Famitsu reveals the next game in Namco Bandai’s action/light gun series Time Crisis. Dubbed Time Crisis 4, the game will be making its debut for the PlayStation 3. The game will be a port of the arcade title, which was released last June and also include another game mode called Mission mode.

Other additions include a hiding system (which introduces a new defensive-style of game play), better visuals and increased number of enemies on the screen.

Upon the game’s release, a new light gun will be released as well called Guncon 3. Since the older light guns don’t work with newer LCD TVs, the new Guncon 3 may have new technology to adapt to the new displays.
