According to an unnamed insider source, Rockstar may currently be developing a sequel to Read Dead Redemption – a game the source cited as Red Dead Rebellion.
The small comment was made when talking bigger news for GTAV, but the possibility of stepping back into the Old American West is a prospect that has us bursting at the seams. A look at Rockstar San Diego’s jobs page reveals that the company is advertising for a number of positions on the team as well, each one noting open-world games in its description. Compound the evidence, and it looks like Read Dead Rebellion may actually come to fruition.
Will players be thrown into Jack Marston’s shoes? Will this just be a spiritual sequel, like Redemption was to Revolver? There is still plenty to explore in the Old West, and if Rockstar took an Assassin’s-Creed-like approach to bring in real-life events, they could really add some depth to their already impressive game.
The possibilities are endless, but what would you like to see from a RDR sequel (spiritual or otherwise)?

Like many people, I’m not 100% sure on it but Rockstar ARE making a lot of open world games as of late. A Redemption sequel would not surprise me =]
