Suda 51 downplays violence in No More Heroes

No More HeroesSuda 51 has come right out and admitted ‘defeat.’ Talking with Siliconera, the Grasshopper CEO has gone back on previous claims that No More Heroes will be more violent than Manhunt 2, saying exactly the opposite:

“I’m sorry I’m making everyone worry so much about No More Heroes. I didn’t worry about it. It’s a violent game, but it’s not a really violent game like Manhunt. It has cartoon-like violence so we aren’t concerned with the level of violence. If you compare it to Manhunt 2 then we lose. Manhunt 2 will feel more violent then us with its gore effects.”

I guess what he originally meant was that he would like to create an ultra-violent game. No More Heroes just doesn’t quite fulfill his dreams in that way.

We’re probably better off this way. I don’t know if I could stand another censorship fiasco like Manhunt 2. I hate censorship. You should, too.
