Team Meat unveils Mew-Genics, a game about mutant cats

Edmund McMillen and Tommy Refenes make up Team Meat, the duo responsible for the ludo-masochistic Super Meat Boy, and they have a new title on the way. It’s about mutant cats.

Team Meat unveiled the new title via the studio’s blog, with a concept piece in artist Edmund McMillen’s signature style. Details for the game are scant, but McMillen was happy to share the following:

“Mew-Genics is by far the strangest project I’ve ever worked on.. and that’s saying something. Tommy and i are very happy with how development has been going on it and decided that Mew-Genics will be the next official Team Meat game. We don’t want to spoil too much here, but we can say the game will be randomly generated, strange and involve cats.”

The new Meat Boy game for iOS and PC will go on hold while work on Mew-Genics is under way. In the meantime we can expect more solid details on Mew-Genics, including platform details and screenshots soon.
