The most surprising game plot twist or ending
For fear of invigorating a sense of anticipation in anyone who has yet to play Braid, and because I’ve already used this game to answer one question in the 30-Day Gamer Challenge, I seriously hesitated before beginning today’s entry. However, there is no denying that this is the biggest and most impressive surprise game ending my memory can conjure. I’ll try to be vague….
What is amazing about Braid’s big reveal is not only the new information itself, but the way this mind-blower is presented via the game’s expertly crafted final level. It is a flawless sequence, and the twist turns the player’s entire perception of the game’s minimalist narrative upside-down.
It’s one of those things I wish I could Eternal Sunshine out of my memory just to experience fresh, over and over again. Superb. Braid is superb.
