The PlayStation 3 has a new design, and the new slim 250GB model in black will be available on September 25 for $269, bundled with the Game of the Year Edition of Uncharted 3 and a $30 voucher for content in the free-to-play Dust 514. A non-bundled version of the 250GB console will be priced at $249 – a Sony press release noted that only the bundled consoles will be available at launch.
A 500GB model will launch on October 30 for $299. For the extra 250GB, it might be worth the wait.
The PlayStation Blog hinted at a special limited edition Assassin’s Creed 3 bundle might be available in the future, but did not specify a price.
Sony explained that Japan will receive a white model, and that other countries “will follow.”
The new PS3 design features a price point that should be favorable to consumers who are looking to add the console to their libraries. For fans of the series, the Assassin’s Creed 3 bundle will definitely be worth the wait.
