The PlayStation turns 15 in North America

Sony's console device turns 15 in North America.

Fifteen years ago today, Sony released a home console gaming device known as the PlayStation in North America. The world of video games has never been the same since.

In honor of the historic anniversary, Sony has put up a page on their website showing the history of the PlayStation and all devices created in its name. They have also created a new category in the PlayStation Store dedicated to classic content in PlayStation’s history.

Included in this section will be a sale on Super Rub-a-Dub, the ducks from the game were used as an E3 2005 tech demo for the PS3, and Suikoden, the classic JRPG from Konami that launched during the PlayStation’s first year of release.
