THQ Reports Strong Revenues, New Games

THQ released their second quarter financial earnings today, reporting an increase in total revenue to $240.2 million, compared to $142.7 million during the same period last year. Net income was $12.6 million, compared to a loss of $1.4 million during the same period last year. THQ made note that the net income was attributed to strong sales of the 360-exclusive Saints Row (which sold over a million copies), PC-exclusive WWII RTS game Company of Heroes and Cars, the game based on the Pixar movie.

During a follow-up call, THQ revealed that an expansion pack is in development for Titan Quest, Iron Lore’s fantasy/action RPG released last summer. No details have been announced yet for the expansion, which has a projected release date of early 2007. THQ also revealed that their racing games Juiced and MX will get sequels sometime after March 2007 and will use in-game advertisements.

Lastly, THQ hinted that with the success of Saints Row and Company of Heroes, they would to expanding the two franchises.
