U.S. Divisions of Namco and Bandai Merge

Namco Hometek and Bandai Games of the United States have made the merger of their divisions™ official. The new entity will be named Namco Bandai Games America. The parent company, Namco Bandai Holding, Inc. in Japan, was a merger of the game companies of Bandai and Namco, which occurred in September 2005. The newly formed company will operate out of Santa Clara, California and will focus on the publishing of game console and PC games. Genichi Ito, the new president and CEO of Namco Bandai Games America said, We are thrilled that the integration of the two North American entities is now complete and we are all now under one roof. We are proud to be part of the new Namco Bandai Games America family and look forward to a successful year ahead." The new company now sports a combined brand name catalogue with familiar industry franchises such as Pac-Man, Tamagotchi, Tekken, SoulCalibur, and Naruto. Ms. Pac-Man marries Tomagotchi. Who would have ever thought?
