UK chart: FIFA kicks off 2011

EA Sports FIFA 2011 has once again taken the number one position in the UK charts, beating Ubisoft’s Just Dance 2 into second place. Activision’s legendary Call of Duty: Black Ops suffered a disappointing week, failing to break into the top two for the first time since its launch.

Despite this minor hiccup, Black Ops hasn’t fallen too far, coming in at number three, making it continue to be the best-selling first-person shooter on the UK market.

Having enjoyed good sales figures during the festive season, Microsoft’s Kinect has fallen from grace with only Kinect Sports managing to stay in the top 10.

Even with its epic production time and huge following, Gran Turismo 5 has again failed to beat EA’s Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit in the ongoing clash of the racing titans. Rising to an impressive number four in the UK chart, Hot Pursuit has slowly but surely overtaken Gran Turismo 5, which like last week has meandered at seventh place.
